What is Kickapoo University?
Kickapoo U is a college and career preparatory program which provides opportunities for relevant professional experiences through job shadows, volunteerism, dual credit courses, and an internship and Capstone course.

Volunteerism

Job Shadows
Students in Kickapoo U are required to complete 150 hours of volunteerism. Of those hours, 50 will be acquired during the A+ Tutoring course.​

Dual Credit Courses

Kickapoo High School offers a variety of dual credit courses. Introductory to Speech, offered beginning the student's sophomore year is required for Kickapoo University. Students are encouraged to take dual credit courses resulting in a significant cost savings.​
At least three different job shadows are required. Each job shadow should be a minimum of three hours in the career field of the student's choice.​

Internship and Capstone

These courses are taken the student's senior year. After doing three job shadows, students are encouraged to secure an internship in the career field that inspires them. Internship allows a flexible schedule. Students will leave campus to go to their internships. Capstone is the course after internship. This research course gets them prepared for their college experience.​
